Fireside Shelties
I have been breeding Shelties for 25+ years and I feel that breeding for the total dog according to the standard is of utmost importance. I show in conformation but many of my dogs have been sold into performance homes and have done very well. Health and temperament are very important and our puppies are raised in the home with lots of socialization. Contact Marianne Glisson through her website, e-mail at fireside@dextermo.net or call her at 636-274-5319.

Please Note:

In no circumstances does Greater St. Louis Shetland Sheepdog Club warrant the services, quality, or health of the puppies or dogs listed on this site or purchased from any breeders listed or who are members of the club.

It is up to the purchaser to question if both parents have been health tested and what guarantees are offered as to the health of the puppy being purchased.

There are four main health concerns in the Shetland Sheepdog breed, but not limited to: hip dysplasia, thyroid disease, Von Willdebrand's disease aka vWD (a bleeding disorder), and eye defects.

Puppy buyers need to be aware of these issues and ask if the parents of the puppy have been screened for these defects. This will not "guarantee" your puppy/dog will be free from these diseases, but will give you a better idea that your new puppy may not develop these defects as they mature.
